Frequently Asked Questions

Don't see your question? Feel free to send a message using the contact form or email found at the bottom of every page.

Q: How do I get started working with you?

A: Easy! Use the contact form below. Send me your script and let me know your intended audience, what the script is for, and how long you intend to use the audio (usage rights) and your deadlines. I'll send you back a quote. If you accept, I'll send a contract via docusign for both of us to sign and then get started narrating your script! It's that easy!

Q: What if I have my own contract?

A: No problem! I will read over your contract and make any necessary suggestions. I do require all clients to sign an AI Rider along with the contract if they are providing their own

Q: How do I pay you?

A: I'll send you an invoice via PayPal. New clients, unless otherwise indicated in our contract, will be billed up front before delivery of files.

Q: What are your policies on AI?

A: I do not use AI, synthetic voices or a voice clone. All of my audio files are 100% human voiced by me. I also do not permit my audio files to ever be used for cloning, AI creation, synthetic voices etc. which is why I have an AI Rider baked into my contract as well as a separate one to send for clients with their own contracts.

Q: Can you do a live directed session?

A: Yes! I have source-connect standard as well as Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, etc. There is an additional fee for live directed sessions, so please let me know if you intend to have your session live when you send your initial information.

Q: What are your rates?

A: I do my best to adhere to industry standard rates, as outlined by the union. You can find those rates by visiting Gravy For The Brain or the Global Voice Acting Academy (GVAA) Rate Guide.

Rates are determined by a number of factors including:

  • Genre (meaning category of VoiceOver such as commercial, corporate, character .etc)

  • Live directed or self directed

  • Length of the project (which could be word count, line count, final finished minutes or hours)

  • Usage or where and how will the product be used. For broadcast (things like TV and/or radio) I need to know which markets, how many markets, the size of markets and how long you intend to run the ad (such as 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, etc.) For web, social media, YouTube, etc I need to know the same information and your expected audience. Is your product something only you and your employees will hear? The more information you give me here, the better I'm able to accurate provide a quote for your project.

Q: How fast is your turnaround time?

A: On most project under 1600 words, I can deliver next business day. If you need faster turnaround, or have a longer project, please let me know so we can discuss rates.

Q: How do you deliver files?

A: My preferred method of delivery is wetransfer.com. It is free for you to use, does not require you to sign in, and hold the files for 7 days before deleting them. This keeps your files safe. I can also deliver via email. If you prefer something else, just let me know! I can also deliver files in mp3, Wav, and other formats.

Q: What are your revision or retake policies?

A: I define retakes as mistakes on my part such as missing words or mispronunciations. These are fixed at no additional charge.

Revisions are changes made to the script after recording. Revisions to less than 30% of the script begin at $25 per word, unless otherwise agreed upon in our contract. If 30% or more of the script has been changed, that requires an entire re-read and will cost the original quoted price.

Performance retakes are instances where the script remains the same but you'd like it read in a different way. If this requires another live session after we've completed our first, you will be charged the original rate again. If I am self directing, I offer 1 free performance retake on things like tone or pace. Subsequent rounds of performance retakes are charged as revisions (see above).

Please submit all change requests within 30 days of recording. After 30 days, those changes will be charged the original rates.
